Call for Chapters
Optimization Techniques for Problem Solving in Uncertainty
You are cordially invited to contribute to the upcoming book ‘Optimization Techniques for Problems in Uncertainty’ in the ‘Advances in Computational Intelligence and Robotics (ACIR)’ book series in IGI Global publisher.
Optimization problems appear in different disciplines and applications. It often involves uncertain aspects. Based on the availability of information a decision making problem or an optimization problem can broadly be categorized as a deterministic and a non-deterministic problem. Most real models involve uncertainty or lack some information. If the available information is sufficiently enough to construct a probability distribution function, the problem can possible be dealt with stochastic approaches or fuzzy theory with the appropriate membership function constructed from the partial information. However, in some cases the available information may not be enough to construct either a probability distribution or a membership function. In such cases grey theory can be used to quantify the uncertain aspects.
The book is devoted to recent developments, reviews and tutorials of decision making or optimization under uncertainty. Different models ranging from stochastic to grey and their connection will be outlines with highlighting possible future works along with applications on real case problems.
The target audience of the book includes professionals who work in decision making, policy designing, mathematics, theoretical computer science and similar areas. It can be useful for graduate students and anyone else who want to do a research on the field. In addition, it can be useful for practitioners in different organizations and policy making bodies.
