Data Mining & Analysis Databases & Information Systems

The first International Conference on Data Intelligence and Security (ICDIS) will be held April 08- 10, 2018 at South Padre Island, Texas, USA. (www.icdis.org)
ICDIS has partnered with the following journals to publish special issues. High quality papers will be invited for further revisions and extensions for journal publications.
1. IET Computers & Digital Techniques (IET, SCI IF: 0.515, EI)
Special Issue on “Data Intelligence and Security techniques in Electronic and Embedded Systems”
2. Journal of Information Security and Applications (Elsevier, ESCI, EI)
Special issue on “Data Intelligence in Security and Privacy”
3. Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems (Elsevier, SCI IF: 1.800, EI)
Special issue on “Data Intelligence in Sustainable Computing”
I. Track Coverage
Data Intelligence is about processing the data with various artificial intelligence techniques, which is especially emphatic about the usages of the data and interacting with the data. The goal of Data Intelligence is to transform data to information and then knowledge. In the era of big data, data intelligence and data security are two closely related views. Both data intelligence and data security are very important research topics, and present constant challenges for academia and industry. Those challenges provide great opportunities for innovative ideas, tools and technologies. Consequently, with the fast development of data intelligence techniques, they are playing a more and more important role in information security and data privacy. This special issue will focus on the data intelligence techniques for security and privacy.
II. Recommended Topics
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Intelligent data analysis for Security
Intelligent data analysis for Privacy
Big data intelligence in security and privacy
Deep Learning in security and privacy
Statistical learning for security and privacy
Data mining for security and privacy
Computational intelligence in security and privacy
Intrusion, anomaly and fraud detection
Data-driven access control
Secure cloud computing
Secure multi-party computation
Data privacy
Sensitive data collection
Privacy-preserving data mining
Privacy-preserving data publishing
III. Paper Submission
Submission to this special issue is by two routes: (1) Invited Papers and (2) Open Call-for-papers:
1. Extended versions of selected relevant papers from ICDIS-2018 (International Conference on Data Intelligence and Security) will be invited for consideration by the guest editors.
These submitted papers must be substantially revised, improved, and extended from their earlier conference versions with at least 30% new “contributions” and the authors must provide a summary of the new contributions.
2. We also plan to publicize an open call-for-papers (CFP) by listing the CFP in major academic announcement mailing lists/websites around the world. We estimate there will be a number of submissions via the open call-for-papers.
We plan to select the best 6-8 papers from the submissions for the special issue.
All the submitted papers will go through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process by at least three international researchers to the JISA standards. Paper submissions for the special issue should follow the submission format and guidelines for regular Elsevier JISA papers. Author guidelines can be found here.
Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission and peer review systems here.
Follow the submission instructions given on this site; please select the article type as “Special Issue: Data Intelligence in S&P”.
IV. Important Dates
Submission deadline for all papers: June 15, 2018
Completion of first-round reviews: September 15, 2018
Submission deadline for revised papers: November 15, 2018
Final Paper Decision: January 15, 2019
