* Call for papers
Nowadays the research of the wellbeing in any environment is pushed forward by the advent of obtrusive technologies such as supportive platform thought to improve the quality of life. In particular, last years were characterized by a wide growing interest for the Internet of Things (IOT) applied as enabling architecture for the E-Health applications. The IOT provides a network of physical devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data. The E-Health takes advantage from IOT to provide health services delivered or enhanced for self-monitoring healthcare platforms. In the IOT architecture applied for E-Health context, we focus our attention on Smart Homes. This particular application of IOT architecture in human life compensates people with disabilities through a complex and augmented environment. Assistive technologies aids such as electronics devices and environment control systems interconnected in a unified system can improve the quality of life of elder and people with disabilities. These systems are not necessarily limited to the home environment, but can also be found in other environments such as a hospital, school, train station, or places to pursue leisure activities.
In this context, this Special Session intends to provide a platform in which researchers, physicians, computer scientists and engineers from both academia and industry can present their experience and research work.
* Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Smart home environments
- E-health services
- Machine learning for healthcare
