By now all we are heard about the Internet of things (IoT), actually millions of devices will be connected to the Internet, as devices connect to each other‛s they can share data over the cloud and analyze it, they transform our businesses, our lives, and our world in countless ways, whatever improving medical outcomes, creating better products faster with low development cost, making shopping more enjoyable or optimizing energy generation for example. In the future most of homes, bodies, and cars will connect to the Internet. The application of the IoT to the manufacturing industry is called the IIoT (or Industrial Internet of Things or Industry 4.0).
The industrial Internet of things will transform the term manufacturing to smart manufacturing by enabling the acquisition and accessibility of far greater amounts of data, at far greater speeds, and far more efficiently than before. Using intelligent connected devices, A number of innovative companies have started to implement the IIoT in their factories.
Like or domains, many challenges facing Industrial Internet of Things and Smart Manufacturing, what devices and application to be used?, what communication medium will be used (radio for example)?, which protocols are supported to use in these devices? And finally most importantly which type of data has been transported? The problem is that Industrial Internet of Things devices are being developed and released faster than our ability to secure them.
The book aims to provide an overview of specific topics of Industrial Internet of Things, Smart Manufacturing, Data Technologies, Security, Lightweight Cryptographic Protocols and their applications:
