Bioinformatics: From Algorithms to Applications

BiATA 2017

Software Systems Theoretical Computer Science Bioinformatics & Computational Biology

Center for Algorithmic Biotechnologies of Saint Petersburg State University invites you to attend the conference "Bioinformatics: From Algorithms to Applications" that will be held from August 1 to August 3 in the heart of Saint Petersburg, the Russian Northern Venice.
Modern life science studies involve both biological and computational methods. Breakthrough results in these fields can only be achieved by tight communication and knowledge exchange between the two sides. The conference aims to bridge bioinformatics methods for genome, metagenome, transcriptome and immune repertoire analysis with the requirements of biological applications.
The conference will be followed by the 2-day workshop on NGS data analysis. Workshop includes practices in genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics and immunogenomics.
The conference welcomes contributions describing the challenges and latest applications of bioinformatics algorithms in the following fields:
- Sequencing technologies
- Molecular sequence analysis
- Computational genomics
- Genome assembly
- Transcriptomics
- Metagenomics
- Immunogenomics
Invited Speakers:
- Prof. Jillian Banfield, University of California, Berkeley
- Prof. Mikhail Gelfand, Moscow State University
- Dr. Nikos Kyrpides, Joint Genome Institute
- Dr. Nicholas Loman, University of Birmingham
- Dr. Jared Simpson, Ontario Institute for Cancer Research
- Dr. Adam Phillippy, National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH
- Dr. Dominique Lavenier, French National Center for Scientific Research
