SCOPE
Big data has provided an opportunity for organisations to get insightful information from very large databases and a wide variety of data sources. However, there are various challenges throughout the key phases of the data analytics life cycle, from discovery, data preparation, model planning, model building, results communication, and operation. Especially in the early stages, it is challenging whether all stakeholders’ requirements are fully discovered and understood prior to conducting data analytics techniques, and whether existing data sources are appropriate with respect to data quality towards achieving the data analytics objectives. In addition, systems are not being designed with business intelligence/data analytics processes in mind. For example, quality of data may not be appropriate or may need to be augmented in order to be useful for data analytics/business intelligence activities. In terms of systems design, data analytics/business intelligence activities may not be precisely known at the time when a system is being designed and behavioural adaptation techniques may be required.
This workshop aims to explore the areas of requirements engineering and design for business intelligence and data analytics from both theoretical and applications points of view. It aims to present approaches, frameworks and tools that target the early stages of systems development. At the same time, it welcomes applications that have focused on requirements and design for data analytics/business intelligence applications.
TOPICS
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to are:
- Frameworks for requirements engineering for big data analytics systems and applications
- processes and techniques for elicitation and capture of requirements for data augmentation in business analytics applications
- processes and techniques for elicitation and capture of requirements for data quality in business analytics applications
- data quality evaluation and improvement techniques for data sources used for systems design
- awareness requirements for analytics adaptive systems
- IS behavioural adaptation for data analytics/business intelligence applications
- designing for data analytics/business intelligence
- evaluation of techniques for data analytics/Business intelligence applications
SUBMISSION PROCESS
Papers that have already been accepted or are currently under review for other conferences or journals will not be considered. Papers should be in English.

The proceedings of the Workshop will be included as part of the main CBI Conference Proceedings. You will need to submit your paper in the IEEE 2-column format (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html).
Maximum paper length is up to 8 pages. Only PDF files are accepted. There is a limit of 250 words for the abstract. Important note: since the review process is double-blind, please make sure that your names and affiliations are not listed in the paper submitted for review.
By submitting a paper, authors implicitly agree that at least one of them will register to the conference and present the paper. It is expected that at least one author will register for each accepted paper. Only papers that have been presented by their authors during the conference will be published as part of the IEEE Proceedings.
