IEEE Workshop on Cognitive Networks

CogniNets 2018

Artificial Intelligence

Recent synergetic advances in multiple fields indicate that it is possible to address the Internet’s increasing complexity through instilling cognition, i.e., autonomy in assessment, enhancement and evolution. These include the development of in-network computing at its different tiers (cloud, fog, dew); softwarization of network elements and functions; the maturing of content-distribution and information-centric networks; and the advances in machine learning mechanisms.
The focus of this workshop thus goes beyond cross-layer optimization and the application of cognition at the physical layer, and expands to cognition across all network layers. Topics of interest in this workshop include:
* Cognitive networks definitions and related areas of research
* Cognitive network enabling technologies
* Cognitive networks techniques
* Cognitive network requirements
* Bounds cognition in networks
* Trade-offs of cognition in computer networks
* Recent advances in cognitive networks
* Applications and services of cognitive networks
* Cognitive network solutions and case studies
